[Event] 7/23(Sun.) Try on a Yukata and Walk Around！

A yukata is a simple kimono for summer season. 

Are you interested in putting on a yukata with the help of volunteers? 

If you don’t have a yukata, we can lend you one for free.

After you are set and make your own fan (uchiwa) with origami, let’s enjoy walking around the Sousei River (Tanuki-koji Arcade if it rains) with volunteers!

Date : July 23 (Sun.). 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Venue : Sapporo International Communication Plaza Foundation (MN Bldg. 3F, Kita 1 Nishi 3-3)

Fee : Free

Capacity : 20 women and 6 men

ボランティアに助けてもらいながら、ゆかたを着てみませんか。

ゆかたを持っていない方には無料で貸すことができます。

ゆかたを着て、折り紙で自分のうちわを作ったら、ボランティアと一緒に創成川（雨の時は狸小路）を歩きましょう。

[Report] Go Cherry-viewing in the Nakajima Park

5月13日(土)に中島公園でお花見イベントをしました。外国人参加者とボランティアあわせて20名が参加しました。

We held  "Go Cherry-viewing in the Nakajima Park" on May 13th, Saturday. A total of 20 participants and volunteers enjoyed the event.

最初に地図で今日のコースを確認。

We checked today's course on the map at the beginning of the event.

日本庭園の中には重要文化財の「八窓庵」があります。

 A tearoom "Hasso-an", the nationally designated important cultural property, is in the Japanese garden.

豊平館は1880年にホテルとして建てられました。

The Hoheikan was constructed in 1880 as a hotel.

札幌コンサートホールKitara。Kitaraという名前には、ギリシャ神話の音楽神アポロンの楽器「キターラ」と「北」の意味が込められています。

This building is the Kitara Sapporo Concert Hall.The name “Kitara” originates from the ancient Greek musical instrument “kithara”, and also the term “kita” which means “north” in Japanese. According to Greek mythology, Apollo, the God of music played the “kithara”.

最後は八重桜の下でお花見をしました。

We had a cherry blossom viewing under the double cherry blossoms at the end of the event.

The ohanami event is carried out today. It will be a warm and beautiful day.

今日「お花見」を行います。あたたかくて素晴らしい日になりそうです。

[Event] 5/13(Sat.) Go cherry-viewing in the Nakajima Park

Why don't you walk around the Nakajima Park with citizen volunteers during the beautiful spring season?

After 1-hour tour of introducing the park’s history and buildings, we enjoy “ohanami” under the double-flowered cherry blossoms (yae-zakura).

Yae-zakura blooms around the period somei-yoshino finishes. Its blossoms are double-flowered and the color is darker than the one of single-flowered blossoms, which is beautiful.

花がきれいな春の中島公園を、市民ボランティアと一緒に歩きませんか？

公園の歴史や建物の紹介をする1時間のツアーの後、ヤエザクラの下で「お花見」をします。
ヤエザクラはソメイヨシノの開花が終わる頃から咲きます。花は八重咲きで色が一重の桜より濃くて美しいです。

[Report] Takino Suzuran Hillside Park Snowshoe Tour

4カ国6名の参加者と3名のボランティアが滝野すずらん丘陵公園でスノーシューとチューブそりを楽しみました。2名の公園職員の方に案内してもらいました。

6 participants from 4 countries and 3 volunteers enjoyed snowshoeing and tube sledding in the Takino Suzuran Hillside Park. 2 park staffs guided us.

その日の朝まで雪がたくさん降っていたので、道はふわふわで、スノーシューで歩くのには最適でした。

Because the snow was falling heavily until the morning, the roads were fluffy and good for walking with the snowshoes.

アシリベツの滝は6割ぐらい凍っていました。

About 60% of the Ashiribetsu Waterfall was frozen.

スノーシューツアーの後、プッチそりを楽しみました。

After the snowshoe tour, we enjoyed the mini tube sledding.

滝野すずらん丘陵公園ではスキーや歩くスキー、200mの長さのチューブそりもあって、雪遊びをするのにおすすめです。

You can also enjoy skiing, cross-country skiing and 200-meter-long tube sledding there. 

The Takino Suzuran Hillside Park is one of the best parks in Sapporo for playing in the snow.
